The challenge
A persistent medieval sandbox involves intersecting systems—property, society, combat, trade, and political relationships—that must be understandable on their own and coherent together.
What I worked on
Interdependent systems
Explored how social hierarchies, ownership, combat, and player incentives intersect across a persistent simulation.
Experience-first design
Structured mechanics and progression around meaningful player decisions instead of isolated feature lists.
Cross-team planning
Developed and reviewed design direction in consultation with company leadership and technical collaborators.
Scope & evidence
The game is listed on Steam with a release date to be announced. This case study describes design contributions and does not claim the title has shipped.
What the work taught me
Emergent play depends on systems that interact consistently. The design challenge is to make those interactions legible without removing their depth.
